pH: 7.3 ± 0.2 at 250C  

Preparation

# Dissolve 42.5g in 950ml of distilled water (purified water)

# Heat and frequent stirring to completely dissolve the medium

# Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes

# Cool to 45-50°C and add supplement.

  • Columbia Blood Agar: add 5% sheep or horse blood, mix well and distribute to sterile plates.
  • Chocolate Agar: add 5% sheep or horse blood, heat to 80°C for 10 minutes, mix well and distribute to sterile plates
  • Serum Agar: add 20% serum, mix well and distribute to sterile plates

Quality Control (37oC, 24H), with 5% Sheep Blood
